Installation view from Abrons Art Center Gallery. A sculptural response to the extension of the Abrons Art Center, a brutalist-style construction from 1975 that was linked onto the original century-old brick playhouse structure. Playing on ideas of the piecemeal construction of the city, the viability and possibility of reuse of such brutalist and municipal constructions for the current community, and the differences between the ideals and reality of modernist order, the sculpture places similar but competing visual and structural systems against each other.<\/p>\n
